I'm A.K. Child with the Feral Writers Club. I only speak for myself, but I've shown this to the other members for their input and thoughts. In the coming time, there is a strong chance censorship will come into play. Part of Project 2025 includes prohibitions on porn, which is not well-defined. Books, like many of those written by our authors, have already been under fire by Christian Nationalists who want the population to be sheltered and ignorant; easier to control. We are under threat for our art, by people who scream about First Amendment Rights while slamming the jail door on anyone who isn't saying what they want to hear.

Because of this, I felt the need to say we support writers. We support true Freedom of Speech, provided it follows the Harm Principle, as noted by Zechariah Chafee Jr., "Your rights end where my nose begins." Freedom has responsibility. We should be free to live, think, write, and speak how we wish. Once those things cause harm to someone else though, that's where consequences happen.

The content we write is for entertainment. We're not looking to indoctrinate anyone, make anyone gay, or otherwise subvert the world. We tell stories we enjoy writing, and we hope others enjoy reading. This is why we support other writers - we want to read their stories too and we want everyone to succeed in their craft.

Overall, this is a statement to say we take a stand against anyone who wishes to stifle us. The Feral Writers Club is also a safe place for all races, genders, and creeds. Some of us identify as LGBTQ+ and have family members who do. Some of us are mixed race and have family members who are. We stand for the rights of people to be people and live their dreams.
